She is a beautiful baby. Having had some experience with having children in critical situations Richard and I will faithfully lift all three of you up in prayer. Psalm 139 is a great reminder that everything is in His care and Providence. With love, Nancy and Richard Day (Travis' parental units)

Psalm 139 IS a great passage...here is an excerpt from it:

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

Jimmy & Nicole,
Congratulations on your new bundle of joy! She is a beautiful baby and I can't wait to meet her! I heard the news about Alex's condition this morning after church---I was helping in the nursery and missed the announcement during the service. I want to let you know that my prayers are with you and your family. Alexandra is blessed to have such wonderful loving parents! When I first met you at the C4 (Cherry Creek Community Church) luncheon (April 2007), you made me feel so welcomed. Both of you were smiling and didn't hesitate to talk to a stranger. Continue smiling and understand that God will be with you as you begin the journey of parenthood. There will be obstacles along the way, but The Lord will be with you every day.

Keeping you in my prayers!

Sincerely,
Julie Addis ("the girl from Georgia")

Nicole and Jimmy;
This has been the most moving thing I've seen in a long time. Your baby is beautiful. She is in good hands - your's, the doc's and most of all God's. You guys are an inspiration. Peace.

Dear Jimmie & Nicole,
Not sure where my earlier comments that were here and showed up correctly before. Am glad to hear shunt may not be needed -- I have a bit of experience in that area ;)
You both & Alex will continue to be in our prayers.

Hey guys! I tried to reply to this blog the day Alex was born but you know me, I'm seriously computer challenged! Anyway, your daughter is gorgeous! We all knew she would be since she is a part of both of you.
Being new parents is always a little crazy and to add a serious medical condition to it you must feel overwhelmed. Please lean on your friends and family to help in anyway possible. We're all here for you today, tomorrow, for always.
Enjoy these tender moments with Alex, holding her close, watching her sleep, waiting for her smiles, her cries, all of it. Before you know it she'll be grown and you'll wonder where all the time went. Alex will have more hurdles than most kids but with you as her parents she will face them with courage and grace and will be an example to all who know her. Thanks for sharing your lives with us, you rock!
Love,
Steve and Lela

Hi Nicole and Jimmy,
This is Kate, the student nurse who was in the room when Alex was born. I have thought about the three of you so often and I was thrilled to see the blogspot address through the isolationette when I walked into the NICU on Thursday. I don't want to intrude on you all or on your nurses but I would like to keep up with Alex's progress. She is such a precious little girl, and you are amazing parents.
As an acquaintance (and not a student nurse) there is an organization I think you would find very helpful during this process. I'd rather not carry on about it here so if you're interested in a brief summary about the organization, and who to contact please email me at kateegb@gmail.com.
I'll be thinking of you all on Monday!
Kate

Great news! Just showed the pics to Gabriella and Adam. Gabriella said she can't wait to see Alex. She also asked why you haven't been at church. She said she misses seeing you both in her Sunday School class . . . 4 year olds ask lots of questions. Thank you for the words of encouragement you wrote about not taking things for granted. It actually helped today as I was watching the kids by myself after pulling a 24 hour shift with 2 hours of sleep - as they were fighting about everything. We will continue to pray for your family and see you on Wed with a little food.

Hi Jimmy and Nicole and Alex,
We are praying for your little family. You are such a blessing to SFC and I believe this will all work out for God's glory. "All things work together for the good of those who love God and who are called according to his purpose." I was reading in James 5:14 and thought of you. Since there are so many praying in agreement for your family, "And the prayer of faith will heal the sick and the Lord will raise him up. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." We love you guys, keep the faith. Rick and Sharon

It's great to hear that Alex is home and doing well! She is so beautiful! Enjoy this precious time with her. Jimmy, I thought I saw pink on the nursery walls, was that your choice? Just kidding! I won't be able to write again for a couple of weeks but I really enjoy reading your updates, I know it is time consuming but it wonderful to hear how she is doing. Thanks for sharing!
Lots of love! Steve and Lela

I feel like I am late in the process. I talked to Casso and directed me here. First congratulations on a beautiful baby girl. She is amazing. Secondly, though small and fragile, babies are resiliant and so much stronger then their outer appearance. Have faith and her fight to be healthy and home. I love you both so much. Bob, RJ and I have you in our prayers and are sending you lots of love and light. You both are so strong and will get through this as a new family. That little girl is ready to be home with you where it is quiet and full of love. If you need anything don't hesitate. 720-333-6714
